Market Meltdown As An 100% Capitalist Green Plan

Nobel Laureate Paul Crutzen has some harsh but logical words re the current economic crisis and global warming:

"It's a cruel thing to say ... but if we are looking at a slowdown in the economy, there will be less fossil fuels burning, so for the climate it could be an advantage," Crutzen told Reuters in an interview.

Recently a number of economists have argued that one means of cutting down on carbon emissions is via a "planned economic recession". Apparently, an unplanned one will work as well.

Yes, and you can bet your bottom dollar (no punn intended) that if the air quality did improve, Harper would be the first to take credit for masterminding the whole thing.

A plan, is a plan, is a plan. I don't know, does a plan count if you ad-lib it as you go along.
